House Etiquette
The unwritten rules of every hidden room, written down once so that nobody has to guess.
The keepers
- The keepers are sixteen made-up grown women, 26 to 55 years old, and every one has a trade and a history. None is made to look younger than her card says.
- None of them is your relation. Every encounter is willing on both sides, and no keeper is copied from someone alive.
- What a keeper will not do is written on her pin, and she keeps to it.
The visitors
- Entry begins at 18.
- Any text that gives somebody below the age of 18 a romantic or sexual role is stopped on the spot, and the visitor may lose the account. Cleverer phrasing gets the same answer.
- Force, cruelty and the airing of a real person's private life are refused, whatever door they try.
- If you type that you want to harm yourself, the keeper steps out of the mood and sends you toward real help. Take her up on it.
The room
Nothing explicit plays out; the lamp goes down first. That limit is the site's, and no level changes it. The museum guard, the clockmaker and the beekeeper are characters, so none is able to advise you on your health, your rights or your money, and each admits it. A licensed person can.
If the door sticks
Write to the footer address and a real person answers. A visitor who persistently ignores this page can be turned away at the door.
